Description
Digital copy, photographs and letters. A collection of Specialist Vaughn Johnson's photographs from Specialist Vaughn Johnson his tour in Vietnam. Also included are handwritten captions for most of the photographs. The photographs include: Specialist Johnson and other soldiers making their way through a jungle in Vietnam. Specialist Johnson and his army brothers standing in front of army barrack in Vietnam. Specialist Johnson posing for the camera after coming from Church while in Vietnam. Specialist Johnson with a Vietnamese man he became acquainted with before his unit went out into the jungle. Specialist Johnson standing outside his bunk in Vietnam. Specialist Johnson carrying his M60 machine gun while leading other soldiers through the jungles of Vietnam. Specialist Johnson helping to load an army helicopter as it hovers in the air off of the ground. Specialist Johnson carrying his M-16 rifle. 2 photographs of Specialist Johnson just posing in his army uniform (neither include captions). Specialist Johnson getting ready for guard duty in one of the many towers, this one of which has a farm in the background. Specialist Johnson in front of an armed Personnel Carrier while on a 23 day mission with the mechanical unit where 6 of the days they rode in these vehicles. Specialist Johnson in full gear while being pointman for his squad. Another squad is in front.
