"BLM Mural Painting". Date: 2020/09/12. Location: High Street, between Maryland 298 and Court Street, Chestertown MD.
Description: Aerial view of the High Street Black Lives Matter mural designed by Gordon Wallace and painted by Chestertown community members on September 12, 2020. Photograph by Sam Shoge. The mural reads, "Black Lives Matter - Chestertown Unites Against Racism"
Artist caption: "The event was put together by Maria Wood, Wanda Boyer and Arlene Lee. This photograph was taken by Sam Shoge owner of Shore Studios. My role in the BLM mural painting was being the graphic designer. I designed the original layout in Adobe Illustrator. Initially, I had three designs but only two were chosen and approved by the town. The day of painting I led volunteers and helped direct the actual of the mural. Which are included as Street design 1-3."
