Description
Two letters from Norman R. Chown, a veteran of the 489th Bomb Group and part of Louis Confer's crew (44th Bombardment Group (H) 506th Bomb Squadron) during WWII, to Chris Clark. Mr. Chown discussed his time with Confer's crew, and his memories of Charles "Frank" Clark, who was a nose gunner on the crew, and provided copies of Special Order (S.O.) 319. Mr. Chown also sent copies of several articles he wrote, "From a Letter Written to Will Lundy," "Dribble Dribble Dribble" and "The Worse Non-Mission I Ever Flew" as well as printouts of black and white photos. One photo shows Mr. Chown with Charles T. Moffet, "Mist"(?) Parish, one unidentified person in front of a plane, and the other photo of two planes in flight with one being shot down. Also included are copies of letters from William Lundy to Chris Clark.
