Description
1811 letter from Jeane Savary to mother, Mary Hesselius, Woodstock, thanking her for recent letter and asking her to visit soon. 1815 letter from Peter Savary to Mrs. Hesselius telling her of Jeane's death, after 2 years of suffering. Menions: Mary's grandson William [William H. Murray??] who was seriously wounded at Bladensburg, "that field of slaughter," then carried to Baltimore where he "recovered without amputation." [War of 1812]
