Letter from US Consul, William Crosby, in "Taliahuano, Mexico" [Tiajuana, MX??], 1850, telling brother Richard that William had sailed on the brig Orleans bound for San Francisco at Crosby's urging to escape "corruption...vice and licentiousness" of this place. Power of Attorney from William to Richard. Letters from Martha Ridgely to Dr. John Ridout to enlist his assistance in obtaining her children's share of their grandmother's [Anna Robinson Ridgely, Mrs. Absalom] legacy being held by Alexander Hagner, attorney in Annapolis. Letter from Miss Harriet Ridgely, daughter of John, asking for settlement of her claim against her brother's estate. Various receipts for payments. 1861 letter from WH Smith in Ohio confirms that Drs. Ridout and Ridgely had been in medical practice together in Annapolis.
