The Democratic Messenger began publication January 30, 1869[?] and ceased February 21, 1973. It was published weekly. Title history based on February 15, 1873 [v. 5, no. 3]. Numbering is irregular. The newspaper merged with the Worcester Democrat (Pocomoke City: 1953) to form the Worcester County Messenger (Pocomoke City: 1973).
