PENDING TRANSFER: 35 audio recordings. This project lead by The Global Z Recording Project with grant support of the Maryland Humanities Council focuses on personal stories about the COVID-19 pandemic, documenting the highly unique years from 2020 to 2023.

Living in a pandemic world imposed significant inconveniences, hardships, unforeseeable circumstances, stressed academic and health systems, caused economic damage, psychological trauma, physical illness, and even death. Every human being was impacted by COVID-19. With a grant provided by Maryland Humanities, The Global Z Recording Project partnered with 15 libraries across the state of Maryland. Audio production gear was installed in the libraries, providing opportunities for Marylanders to record their personal stories of how COVID-19 impacted their lives and their communities. Their voices and stories are now part of collections at the Enoch Pratt Free Library's Digital Maryland and the Maryland State Archives. In addition, feature stories were distributed with the assistance of National Public Radio flagship station, WYPR (Baltimore). This project was designed to empower citizens with a rare opportunity to tell their stories.

All recordings reflect the unedited content provided by their narrators and are produced by The Global Z Recording Project.
