The Maryland Herald, and Elizabeth-Town Advertiser began publication March 2, 1797 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased February 19, 1801 [v. 5, no. 208]. It was published weekly. The newspaper continues the Washington Spy (Elizabeth Town: 1790) and was continued by the Maryland Herald, and Elizabeth-Town Weekly Advertiser (Elizabeth Town: 1801).
