The Calvert Journal began publication in July 1867 and ceased in 1957[?]. It was published weekly. Title history based on March 1, 1873 [v. 6, no. 33]. The newspaper merged with the Calvert Gazette (Prince Frederick: 1885) to form the Calvert Journal Gazette (Prince Frederick: 1958).

Archives' collection includes issues for 1876-1884, 1889-1894, 1897-1901, 1904-1913, 1933-1934, 1936, 1938, 1940-1947, 1949-1951, 1953-1954, 1957.
