The Baltimore Daily Gazette began publication October 6, 1862 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased September 16, 1865 [v. 6, no. 904]. It was published daily, except Sunday. A triweekly edition was also published (title unknown). Publication was suspended September 30-October 6, 1863. The newspaper continues the Maryland News Sheet (Baltimore: 1861) and was continued by the Baltimore Gazette (Baltimore: 1865).

Archives' collections include issues for February 27, 1864 [v. 3, no. 425] (MSA SC 2419) and July 13, 1864 (MSA SC 1925-1-10).
