The Eastern-Shore Whig and People's Advocate began publication in 1828 and ceased in March 1841. It was published weekly, 1837-1842; weekly [September 16, 1828]-November 1832; weekly, except semiweekly while Congress was in session, December 1832-December 1834; semiweekly, January 1835-December 1836. Title history based on September 16, 1828 [v. 1, no. 2]. It was also published as the Eastern Shore Wig and People's Advocate. Issues beginning 1835 called new series. A weekly edition was also published, January 1835-December 1836. The newspaper absorbed the Republican Star, or, General Advertiser (Easton: 1814) in 1833 and was continued by the Eastern-Shore Star (Easton: 1841).
