Description
Civil War recollections and reminiscences collected in 1927 by the United Daughters of the Confederacy to be gathered into a book by noted historian and politician Claude G. Bowers. This collection offers interesting aspects of the roles of women during the Civil War and in the Confederate army and government. The collection offers some insight into the concerns of family members for their missing or wounded loved ones, actual battle events, as well as insight in to the conviction and loyalty of a few Confederate citizens and soldiers.
