Original draft for George Washington's resignation speech which he delivered to Continental Congress in the State House, Annapolis. On December 23, 1783, General Washington resigned as Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army.

Letter, James McHenry to Margaret (Peggy) Caldwell.
McHenry describes what he witnessed on December 23, 1783, when General George Washington addressed the Continental Congress and resigned his commission as Commander-In-Chief of the Continental Army in the Old Senate Chamber, State House, Annapolis.
