Description
Daguerreotype (2 ¾” x 3 ¼”) of a lady in an embossed leather case with plane ‘gold’ mat around image.
Hoffman family member states: "I want to be very clear that my Grandmother May A. Seitz has identified this daguerreotype image as a cousin of a cousin of her mother’s named Mary Jane McIlvaine. However, I have reached a point of discounting any McIlvaine connection to her Hoffman family and believe the lady in this Daguerreotype is more likely that of May A. Seitz’s grandmother Susanna D.
