Description
Box 4 of unidentified Spawn Collection bindings (Box 24 of the Spawn Collection). Box contains stacks of uncatalogued blank paper probably removed from Spawn collection bindings. The stack was originally found piled on a bottom shelf with the Spawn bindings before they were cataloged. Some pieces are single sheets, probably from the end of a binding, while some are the majority of a book, with tapes and threads still attached to the signatures. Much of it is hand-laid, bearing 18th century watermarks with the occasional 19th century wood pulp papers or 19th or 20th century marbled endsheet.
Top of the box contains several cataloged items from MSA SC 5797-5.
