Description
Digital image collection of letters, drawings, photographs, family records and ephemera pertaining to the life of Confederate soldier John J. Omenhausser (1831-1877). Omenhausser, who was captured in 1864 and served nearly a year's captivity at Point Lookout, is famous for his drawings and sketches depicting everyday life as a prisoner of war. His sketchbooks reside in several public institutions in the United States.
