An August 1796 Baltimore County Court case, "Andrew van Bibber vs. George Carnaghan," on a payment dispute for the construction of a home in Baltimore, MD. Mr. van Bibber was apparently unsatisfied with the completed house and sued Mr. Carnaghan, the contractor, for 200 pounds.

Description
A Baltimore County Court case, "Thomas Thornhill vs. John Paul," April 9th, 1796. Mr. Thornhill sued Mr. Paul for a debt incurred in 1791 of 23 pounds and the judge ruled in his favor. Mr. Paul failed to pay and Mr. Thornhill brought another complaint to Chancery Court five years later. He now sought "one hundred Dollars of the value of thirty seven pounds ten shillings."

Chancery Court cases, "Samuel Chase vs. Waltemeyer and Wife and Allen Thomas" (Mar. 1821), "Chase vs. Waltemeyer" (Sept. 1822), "Samuel Chase vs. Adam Waltemeyer and Others" (Mar.1828), "Samuel Chase vs. Adam Waltemeyer and Others" (Sept. 1828). Mr. Chase sued the Waltemeyers for collection of a 300 dollar debt. The Waltemeyers had to sell two real estate lots to pay the debt, but an objection of the sale of one of the lots was raised by the widow claiming dower rights.
