Correspondence in this file is concerned primarily with the health and welfare of infants and children. Correspondents include the Health Editor for The Delineator, the Children's Bureau at the U. S. Department of Labor, the National Child Labor Committee, Women's Section of the Maryland Council of Defense, Better Babies Bureau at the Woman's Home Companion, The Crowell Publishing Company, Women's Civic League, Alliance of Charitable and Social Agencies, and the National Child Labor Committee. While much of the correspondence covers the availability of literature and information on pediatric health and nutrition, there is also a request for support for congressional bills regulating child labor, pledge for children to sign showing their patriotism, forms and charts for reporting children's height and weight, a pamphlet soliciting donations, a request to attend a meeting of rural teachers, statistics on use of milk, as well as a response to a request for a visit to a local family to check the welfare of the children.
