Description
Correspondence centers efforts on the part of returning service men and a war memorial. Appointment letters for Roselle Handy to the Reception Committee and the Committee on Memorial for Worcester County, the Maryland Council of Defense for Worcester County, and as Chairman of Educational Propaganda for the Women's Section of the Maryland Council of Defense. File includes letters from the Woman's Section of the Maryland Council of Defense for Worcester County, Maryland Council of Defense, and Women's Section of the Council of National Defense. In addition, there is a pamphlet on training for employment, a request from Secretary of the Interior for the Maryland Council of Defense to continue its activities, and a letter explaining the duties of the Chairman for East Berlin District for the Women's Preparedness and Survey Commission for Worcester County. Signatures on letters include Elizabeth T. Shoemaker, Julia M. Robins, G. W. Haddoway, Matilda B. Malory, Julia Rogers, and F. E. Waters.
