This file contains a variety of correspondence. There are notes from women such as
Helen O. Belknap, Mrs. L. M. Hardesty, Katherine E. Lucke, Elizabeth Purnell, Edna Staton Whaley, Aura A. Lloyd, May Purnell Wharton, Minnie H. Halloway, and Lucy J. Walter. Miss Handy had speaking engagements at the Industrial Guild meeting and with the Community League. There were several letters from the Maryland State Federation of Women’s Clubs as well as a newspaper clipping announcing the creation of a Woman’s Club for Berlin. An undated list of officers and members is also here. The principal of Buckingham High School requested Miss Handy speak to her club about high school enrollment and attendance. Miss Handy also received a letter from a club in Kentucky recommending one of their members who had moved to St. Martins. The Treasurer of the Berlin Club filed a financial report for 1917. There are also several letters transmitting flyers and posters on infant health. Miss Handy requested a catalog from the Library Bureau in New York and subsequently placed an order. The International Harvester Company sent her an announcement about the “Fight the Fly” campaign.
