Photograph copy of painting with the following description beneath it: "Awful explosion of the "Peacemaker" on board the U.S. Steam Frigate "Princeton" on Wednesday, 28th Feby 1844. By which melancholy, Secy of State Upshur, Secy of the Navy Gilmer, Capt. Rennon, Colonel Gardiner, and Virgil Maxey were instantly killed." Black and white, 8"x10".
