Deutsche Correspondent began publication in 1841[?] and ceased April 28, 1918 [jahrg. 78, nr. 119]. It was published daily, [1847-1918]; weekly, [1841-1843]; triweekly, [1843-1844]; daily, [1844]; and triweekly, [1844-1847]. Title history based on May 26, 1846 [jahrg. 6, nr. 63]. On Sundays, it was published as Sonntags-Correspondent, March 6, 1898 to February 7, 1904. Other editions include Deutsche Correspondent (Baltimore: 1848).

Archives' collection includes issues for January 1-June 28, 1890, January 1-June 30, 1892, January 1-June 29, 1895, July 1-December 31, 1896, and March 2, 1902 (MSA SC 1516-2).
