The Cecil Democrat began publication June 1, 1850 and ceased April 1, 1981 [v. 144, no. 11]. It was published weekly. Title history based on June 1, 1850 [v. 9, no. 5]. The newspaper continues the Cecil Democrat, and Farmers' Journal (Elkton: 1846), absorbed the Cecil County News (Elkton: 1880), and was absorbed by the Cecil Whig (Elkton: 1841).
