The Baltimore County Advocate was published May 19, 1855 [v. 6, no. 14] to January 2, 1864 [v. 14, no. 49]; January 9, 1864 [new series, v. 1, no. 1] to December 31, 1864 [v. 1, no. 52]. It was published weekly. The newspaper continues the Baltimore County Advocate and General Advertiser (Cockeysville: 1850) and merged with the American (Towson: 1862) to form the Baltimore County Union (Towson: 1865).
Issues of this newspaper are from the collection of the Enoch Pratt Free Library, deposited there by Mrs. Mary E. Wilson, owner of the Prince George's Enquirer until 1925. Additional issues were acquired from G. Frank Stricklin, publisher of the Jeffersonian.
