The St. Mary's Gazette began publication October 1, 1863 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased August 29, 1867 [v. 4, no. 45]. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Saint Mary's Gazette. The newspaper continues the St. Mary's Beacon (Leonardtown: 1852) and was continued by the St. Mary's Beacon (Leonardtown: 1867).
