The Maryland Gazette began publication in 1874[?] and ceased February 10, 1910 [v. 10, no. 45]. It was published weekly. Title history based on July 11, 1876 [new v. 9, no. 28]. "Weekly Annapolis" appears within title ornament, [1876]. The newspaper continues the Annapolis Gazette (Annapolis: 1854) and merged with the Evening Capital (Annapolis: 1884) to form the Evening Capital and Maryland Gazette (Annapolis: 1910).

Archives' collection includes issues for February 13, 1895 (MSA SC 414-1-136), March 18, 1896 (MSA SC 414-1-137), March 20, 1902 (MSA SC 1516-1-9), 1897 (MSA SC 4144), November 8, 1905 (MSA SC 414-1-138), 1905 (MSA SC 4144), March 4, 1907 (MSA SC 414-1-139) and January 28-February 10, 1910 (MSA SC 4144).
