The Baltimore American and Commercial Advertiser began publication January 1, 1870 [v. 138, no. 22,862] and ceased December 1, 1883 [v. 165, no. 27,420]. It was published daily, except Sunday. Other editions include the Baltimore Weekly American (Baltimore: 1855). The newspaper continues the American and Commercial Advertiser (Baltimore: 1861-1869) and was continued by the Baltimore American (Baltimore: 1883-1964: daily)
