(Elkton, Cecil County: Henry Bosee) The Cecil Gazette, and Farmers' and Mechanic's Advertiser began publication August 23, 1834 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased in 1842. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Cecil Gazette & Farmers and Mechanics' Register and the Farmers' and Mechanics' Advertiser. The newspaper continues the Cecil Republican and Farmers' and Mechanics' Advertiser (Elkton: 1832) and was continued by the Cecil Democrat (Elkton: 1842). This project was made possible through funds provided by the Maryland State Archives and the United States Newspaper Program of the Library of Congress and the Office of Preservation, National Endowment for the Humanities.
