The Cecil Gazette, and Farmers' and Mechanic's Advertiser began publication August 23, 1834 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased in 1842. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Cecil Gazette & Farmers and Mechanics' Register and the Farmers' and Mechanics' Advertiser. The newspaper continues the Cecil Republican and Farmers' and Mechanics' Advertiser (Elkton: 1832) and was continued by the Cecil Democrat (Elkton: 1842).
