(Cumberland, Allegany County: Archibald Cary) The Cumberland Miners' Journal began publication August 29, 1851 [v. 8, no. 47] and ceased with the March 10, 1859[?] issue. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Miner's Journal. The newspaper continues the Cumberland Civilian (Cumberland: 1840) and merged with the Cumberland Telegraph and Maryland Mining Register (Cumberland: 1855) to form the Civilian & Telegraph (Cumberland: 1859).
