(Bel Air, Harford County: John W. Worthington) The Aegis and Harford Gazette began publication March 16, 1951 [v. 97, no. 10 (i.e., no. 11)] and ceased January 9, 1964 [v. 108, no. 2]. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Aegis and the Harford Gazette. The newspaper was formed by the union of the Aegis (Bel Air: 1923) and the Harford Gazette (Bel Air: 1942) and was continued by the Aegis the Harford Gazette and the Democratic Ledger (Bel Air: 1964).
