The Aegis began publication February 2, 1923 [v. 68, no. 5] and ceased March 9, 1951 [v. 97, no. 10]. It was published weekly. The newspaper continues the Aegis & Intelligencer (Bel Air: 1864) merged with the Harford Gazette (Bel Air: 1942) to form the Aegis and Harford Gazette (Bel Air: 1951).
