The Advocate, and Farmers' & Mechanics' Register began publication in 1823[?] and ceased in 1832. It was published weekly. Title history based on January 24, 1832 [new ser., v. 2, no. 13]. It was also published as the Advocate and Farmers' and Mechanics' Register, the Maryland Advocate, and the Allegany Advertiser. Issues for January 24 and March 27, 1832 also called vol. 9, no. 425 and vol. 9, no. 434 respectively. The newspaper was continued by the Advocate (Cumberland: 1832).
