Description
Genealogical collection concerning the Sellman and Best families in Birdsville and Davidsonville of Anne Arundel County. Collection includes Sellman family Bible; photographs of the Best family at their plantation house Etowah; photographs of family members and their farm; photographs of Alfred Sellman Best's military service at Charlotte Hall and Maryland Agricultural College (now University of Maryland, College Park); and two diaries.

Collection also includes material about the Gittings family, of Baltimore County. Papers related to Gittings' family estates, along with publications by Gittings family members are included. The collection also contains photographs of various members of the Gittings family.

Series 5 organization follows original order created by donor. Numbering of items and subitems reflects donor groupings of materials.
