Topics include the usual general business of the law firm, but also a 1910 inquiry from the Shellfish Commission wanting local input regarding the location of all natural oyster bars and rocks in Dorchester County waters; utility invoices and rent for Harrington’s office in 1916; correspondence with the Union Pacific Railroad re a “hospital train” and expenses for an operating room car; pamphlet Why People Die Too Young; letters from young Emerson Harrington to his parents from St. Johns College in the early 1880’s, complaining about the poor condition and “ very little prospect of getting …appropriation for the college” [from the Legislature??]; letter from Rev. Ernest Lyon on stationery of the Liberian Consulate General, Baltimore, 30 Jan 1920, thanking the retiring Governor for the “certificates for the members of the Colored Division of the Maryland Council of Defense”; 5 mint, red US Postage 2-cent stamps with Washington’s profile; a State Roads Commission report, Roads Constructed and Under Construction as of Jan 1, 1920, with listings for each county, number of miles, location and materials used.
