Executive Warrant, Governor Oden Bowie, paying the Annapolis chief of police, Thomas Basil, for "services of police in keeping order at the State House at the installation of the governor." Printed, oblong form with handwritten particulars by a clerk, few light folds with tiny losses at intersects. Signed.

Description
Manuscript, Original one-page handwritten uncompleted duplicate of bond issued by the State of Maryland to the 5th Regiment of Maryland Militia, requiring unspecified amount of money to be paid to the state for arms and accoutrements loaned by the state to the Regiment which were not returned when no longer needed. Signed by John Barry, Standish Barry, Richard Heath, and Joseph Sterett. Small folio, single sheet, several old horizontal folds, fine condition with minor aging.

Major Peter commanded the flying battery of horse-drawn artillery known as the first regiment, District of Columbia militia (in which Francis Scott Key served during the defense of Washington in 1814). / Includes modern printed biography of Major George Peter in plastic.
