“Some of Harford County Part in the War Between the States” by L. Goldie M. Smith written 1912 or 1913. Persons mentioned include; General James J. Archer, Arthur Pue, Colonel Otho S. Lee of Bel Air while at General Fitzhugh Lee’s headquarters, Dr. Martin Jarrett, Doctor Charles A. Rutledge, J. P. Rutledge, Pendleton’s Battery, General Lee, Robert Lee, General Stonewall Jackson, General Joe Johnson, General O’Banner, General Kirby Smith, George Smith Norris, Alex Norris of Company C 1st Maryland Calvary. Also mentioned are Lieutenant Edwin Hill Dorsey Pue while in Leesburg, VA with Eppa Hunter(Hunton?), the 18th Virginia Regiment, G. R. Gaithers’ Company of Calvary, Colonel Agnus McDonald, Romney VA, J.E.B. Stuart. Pue was wounded at Spotsylvania, Gettysburg, Reams Station, and in the Valley of Virginia and was brother to Mrs. Walter W. Preston, president of U.D.C. Maryland Division. E.
