Turner) The Planter's Advocate and Southern Maryland Advertiser began publication September 3, 1851 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased August 31, 1853 [v. 3, no. 1]. It was published weekly. The newspaper was continued by the Planter's Advocate (Upper Marlboro: 1853). Issues of this newspaper were from the collections of the Enoch Pratt Free Library and the Maryland Historical Society.
