The American and Daily Advertiser began publication May 14, 1799[?] and ceased in 1802. It was published daily, except Sunday. Title history based on May 16, 1799 [v. 1, no. 3]. It was also published as the American and Baltimore Daily Advertiser [November 30-December 15, 1801] and as the American and Mercantile Daily Advertiser [July 16, 1802]. Other editions include the American and Commercial Daily Advertiser (Baltimore: 1800). The newspaper continues the Baltimore Intelligencer (Baltimore: 1798-1799) and was continued by the American and Commercial Daily Advertiser (Baltimore: 1802-1853).
