History
(Cambridge, Dorchester County: Joseph H. Johnson) The Democrat and News ceased publication December 30, 1965 [v. 127, no. 52]. It was published weekly. Title history based on January 20, 1872 [v. 33, no. 12]. The newspaper was absorbed by the Dorchester News (Hurlock: 1966). Archives' collection include issues for April 19, 1890 [v. 51, no. 16] (MSA SC 481) and July 12, 1890 [v. 51, no. 28] (MSA SC 481).
