The Sun began publication May 17, 1837 [v. 1, no. 1]. It was published daily, beginning October 6, 1901; daily, except Sunday, 1837-October 5, 1901. On Sundays, it was published as the Sunday Sun, November 15, 1914-1983. Sunday issues have own numbering. It was also published as the Baltimore Sun. Publication was suspended April 20-May 26, 1965 and January 3-March 17, 1970. Other editions include the Baltimore Weekly Sun (Baltimore: 1838) and the Evening Sun (Baltimore: 1910).
The Sun Almanac for Baltimore (Baltimore: A.S. Abell Co.) [OCLC 11432016] was published annually 1880-1915[?]. Volumes for [1898]-1915 were issued as a supplement to the Sun. Title history based on 1881; title form cover. It continues the Baltimore Sun Almanac and was continued by the Maryland Almanac.
