History

The Advertiser began publication August 18, 1898 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased November 5, 1908 [v. 39, no. 14]. It was published weekly. It was also published as the Anne Arundel Advertiser. The newspaper continues the Anne Arundel Advertiser (Annapolis: 1870) and merged with the Maryland Republican (Annapolis: 1894) to form the Advertiser-Republican (Annapolis: 1908).

Archives' collection includes issues for 1898-1908 (MSA SC 2928) and for March 20, 1902 [vol. 32, no. 32] (MSA SC 1516-8).
