History
(Prince Frederick, Calvert County: G.W. Dowell) The Calvert Gazette began publication July 25, 1885 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased in 1957[?]. It was published weekly. The newspaper merged with the Calvert Journal (Prince Frederick: 1867) to form the Calvert Journal Gazette (Prince Frederick: 1958). Archives' collection includes issues for 1885-1889, 1891-1898, 1900-1903, 1905, 1907, 1911-1917, 1919-1924, 1927-1954, 1957.
