History
(La Plata, Charles County: Times-Crescent Pub. Co.) The Times-Crescent began publication June 3, 1971 [v. 126, no. 51] and ceased July 19, 1989 [v. 146, no. 29]. It was published weekly, except week between Christmas and New Year's, December 24, 1979-1989; weekly, 1966-December 19, 1979. It was also published as The Times-Crescent the Citizen News, [January 3-17, 1974] and the Times Crescent. The newspaper continues the Times-Crescent the Charles County Leaf (La Plata: 1966) and was continued by the Charles County Times-Crescent (La Plata: 1989). Archives' collection includes fragment of issue for September 25, 1974 (MSA SC 1074-10) microfilmed as part of the Edward Lloyd Middleton Collection. See M 1661.
