History

The Republican & Daily Argus began publication February 15, 1842 [v. 28, no. 6,098] and ceased November 29, 1845 [v. 30, no. 7,357]. It was published daily, except Sunday. It was also published as the Republican and Daily Argus. Other editions include the Baltimore Republican (Baltimore: 1827). The newspaper was formed by the union of the Baltimore Republican (Baltimore: 1837) and the Daily Argus (Baltimore: 1840) and was continued by the Daily Republican and Argus (Baltimore: 1845).

Archives' collection includes issue for January 11, 1843 (MSA SC 1925-1-11).
