History
(Frederick City, Frederick County: Baughman Bros.) The Citizen began publication on March 1, 1895 [v. 74, no. 34] and ceased March 30, 1923 [v. 101, no. 30]. It was published weekly. The newspaper continues the Frederick Citizen (Frederick: 1890) and was continued by the New Citizen (Frederick: 1923). For abstracts, see: L. Tilden Moore, Abstracts of Marriages and Deaths and Other Articles of Interest in the Newspapers of Frederick and Montgomery Counties from 1831-1840 (Bowie: Heritage Books, Inc., 1991).
