The Baltimore County American began publication in 1858 and ceased in 1862[?]. It was published weekly. Title history based on November 13, 1858 [v. 1, no. 9]. The newspaper was continued by the American (Towson: 1862).

Archives' collection includes issues for August 2, 1861 [MSA SC 1925-1-21], May 9, 1862 [MSA SC 1925-1-22], and July 4, 1862 [MSA SC 1925-1-23].
