History

Bartgis's Republican Gazette began publication in 1800[?] and ceased in January 1814[?]. It was published weekly. Title history based on February 11, 1801. It was also published as the Republican Gazette. The newspaper continues Bartgis's Federal Gazette, or, The Frederick-Town and County, Weekly Advertiser (Frederick: weekly) and was continued by Bartgis's Republican Gazette, and General Advertiser (Frederick: 1814)

Archives' collection includes issues for June 15, 1804 [MSA SC 1925-1-49] and June 29, 1804 [MSA SC 1925-1-48].
