History
(Washington City (DC): Gales & Seaton) The Daily National Intelligencer began publication Jan. 1, 1813 [v. 1, no. 1] and ceased in 1869. It was published daily (except Sunday) Feb. 6, 1865-June 24, 1869. Other editions include the National Intelligencer published triweekly (Washington DC: 1810-1869). It merged with the the Washington Express (Washington DC: 1869-1869) in 1869 to form the Daily National Intelligencer and Washington Express (Washington DC: 1869-1870). Related titles include the Weekly National Intelligencer(Washington DC: 1841-1869) and the Universal Gazette (Philadelphia: November 1797).
