History
(Frederick-Town, Frederick County: John Winter) The Maryland Gazette, and Frederick Weekly Advertiser began publication in 1790 and ceased in 1792[?]. It was published weekly. Title history based on September 11, 1790 [v. 1, no. 30]. It was also published as the Frederick Weekly Advertiser and the Maryland Gazette, and Frederick-Town Weekly Advertiser. The newspaper was continued by Bartgis's Maryland Gazette, and Frederick-Town Weekly Advertiser (Frederick: 1792). For abstracts, see: F. Edward Wright, Western Maryland Newspaper Abstracts 1786-1798 (Silver Spring: Family Line Publications, 1985).
