The Phoenix Civilian began publication in 1833 and ceased January 11, 1840 [v. 13, no. 41]. It was published weekly. Title history based on June 25, 1833 [v. 6, no. 11]. The newspaper continues the Cumberland Civilian (Cumberland: 1829) and was continued by the Cumberland Civilian (Cumberland: 1840).
